There Will Be Blood has ruined other movies for me. I have a list of the final films I need to catch up with from 2007 but I can't muster up enough enthusiasm to get to them, I know none of them will be anywhere near as good as Blood. That film is a masterwork that reaches so high and achieves something so awesome that the mere thought of anything pales in comparison. Anytime I get near a theater I only want to see PT Anderson's film again, which I probably will be doing this week.

The only films I can even get somewhat excited about are the bigger, dumber movies coming out later this month, Cloverfield (though I have been reading good things about Cloverfield) and Rambo. The only reason I even want to see these is because I know I am seeing them with friends at the movie tavern, more of a social outing than anything having to do with cinema.

Jeez, they just showed a There Will Be Blood commercial as I was writing it. Immediately I wanted to be in the theater watching it again. I wish I could go back and see it again for the first time.
