The worst part about all this strike talk is that it is overshadowing an amazing year in film. When looking back on 2007 this will be the major movie related story, not all the masterpieces released within the year. This is also casting a shadow over all of the awards shows, no longer will it be a simple celebration of great movies, there will be this thing in the back of everyones minds, this problem. Anyway, another casualty has happened with the Golden Globes. Steven Spielberg had been due to receive the Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement on Sunday. But yesterday's decision to reformat the show as a much-less-glitzy news program convinced the Hollywood Foreign Press to postpone the honor until next year, when, presumably, a proper ceremony will be held.
