Daniel Day-Lewis may soon settle on his next project. The always-in-demand actor, who is known to be very picky with the roles he chooses, is in negotiations to star in Nine for director Rob Marshall (Chicago). The musical is an adaptation of the hit Broadway show, which was inspired by Fellini's classic film 8 1/2. Day-Lewis would be taking over the lead role of harried movie director Guido Contini from Javier Bardem (who dropped out of the production citing exhaustion). Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, and Judi Dench are already on board. Who knows what kind of crazy method acting Day-Lewis will bring to this role? What else could he do, actually direct a film, go back in time and star in Fellini's original 8 1/2? The possibilities are endless.
