Elizabeth Berkley is still making movies. She has joined the cast of S. Darko, the Chris Fisher-directed sequel to 2001's cult hit Donnie Darko, a film a lot of people like because its weird and angsty but I am of the opinion it makes absolutely no sense and is a bit of a miss. Christopher Kelly, the original director/writer has nothing to do with this film which tells a story that is set seven years after the original as Donnie Darko's sister, Samantha (played by again by Daveigh Chase), flees town with her best friend (Briana Evigan, Step Up to the Streets, Fear Itself) when they are plagued by bizarre visions. Berkley plays a speed freak-turned-Jesus freak obsessed with cleansing the world of sin and infatuated with her dreamy pastor. Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) and Justin Chatwin (The Chumscrubber) also have roles.

I never really understood Donnie Darko. I wanted to. But I guess I'm not really that angsty after all.
