I am still in the process of watching the first season of Heroes on DVD. The show is actually much better than I expected, but no show has ever had such an interesting storyline coupled with such bad acting. I haven't seen any of season two but the reviews I have read have not been kind. I'm not sure if any of this has any affect on the reported spin off, Heroes: Origins, but now it seems that the show won't even make it to air.

NBC has indefinitely shelved production on the planned six-episode spin-off of its Monday hit. The series, which had attracted heavy hitters such as Eli Roth, Kevin Smith and Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns),was set to premiere later this season while "Heroes" was on hiatus.

Variety says that NBC Universal entertainment co-chairs Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff didn't want to move forward with the project given the financial uncertainties of a possible WGA work stoppage.

Heroes: Origins might not be completely dead and could very well be revived at a later date, perhaps as soon as next season.
